Who are we?

Behind every candle holder there are hands, a story and two personalities: Annette and Manu.

We believe an object takes on another dimension when you know who made it, how and with what intention. So, before introducing you to our creations and workshops, let’s get to know each other.

Annette and Manu

A couple in life and in the workshop. Two very different but complementary personalities, united by the desire to create with their hands and share a craft.

Our workshop in Brussels is where our ideas take shape, where we make every candle holder and where we welcome you to create in your turn.

Through our creations and workshops, we invite you to discover the pleasure of working with materials, taking your time and bringing something personal to life.

Certified craftsmanship – recognised artisans in Belgium

Officially recognised craftsmanship in Belgium

We are officially recognised as artisans. This official recognition underlines the authentic nature of what we do, the importance of handwork and our know-how. Behind every candle holder are our hands, our gestures and our passion for wax.

Always getting back up

In September 2020 we opened a pop-up store in Stockel, with a welcoming clientele and a business off to a good start. In early November we had to close. We had to absorb the shock, morally and financially.

Then life resumed, with the need to reinvent ourselves: rethinking how we worked during lockdown, our e-commerce, our social media. The resilience that defines us resurfaced, with the desire and the need to act differently.

Getting back up is something Annette and I strongly believe in. It is this mindset that led us to the workshop we have today.

Annette

German by origin, I worked in human resources and in the world of childhood. My career took me around the world before I put down my suitcases in Belgium about ten years ago. A happy stopover… especially if you ask Manu!

Mother of two wonderful children, I find in handwork a balance that is precious to me. Creating with my hands feeds my everyday life : imagining, experimenting, feeling the material transform and seeing an idea take shape.

At the workshop I share this joy of creating, hoping everyone leaves proud of what they have made.

Manu

Belgian by origin, I explored the food industry from every angle: from restaurant kitchens to production, through transport and distribution.

Creativity drives my life! I love imagining, trying and giving shape to my ideas. In the workshop, wax gives me a wonderful field of expression, which I enjoy sharing with you during our workshops.

Father of two wonderful children, I too waited a long time for Annette to put down her suitcases in Belgium… but she was well worth a little patience! 😉

We prefer to protect our children’s privacy. So, for the introductions in pictures, we leave the stage to Patch, whom you may get the chance to meet during a workshop!

My name is Patch

I know I’m particularly handsome!

If you’re really nice, I’ll stop by to say hello during your workshop!
